Laying in the Grass

Brian returned from his business trip to Holland on Friday night and despite having been up almost 24 hours, he was up bright and early on Saturday to do his chores.  I’m so glad he’s home!

We went for our usual Saturday morning breakfast and did a few errands.  I bought some plants and a couple of Hens and Chicks succulents for the wooden shoes Brian brought home for me from Holland.  I had made the sign some time ago to which we screwed the shoes onto.  It looks cute hanging by our back door.

After chores this morning I decided to plant a “Spilled Wine” weigela I purchased on Saturday and three hostas in this little area by the yard light pole.  Of course, when I set about digging up dirt and pulling weeds, Samson and Delilah decided to join in the fun.  Unfortunately, there weren’t too many worms which left Delilah decidedly perturbed.

When it was all done and everything put away, I grabbed the camera and snapped a few pictures.  Because it’s such a beautiful morning, I decided to sit in the grass with the geese and admire my hard work.  After a few minutes of chewing on my clothing, Delilah decided it was time to lay down behind me for a nap.  Sam soon followed, as did I.  I could have laid out in the grass all day, but I have grown up things to do.  Sigh . . .

Until next time . . .
